Ahead of SummerSlam on Saturday, WWE SmackDown witnessed the final showdown between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Icon John Cena. The fan expectation was high on this one after the duos constant verbal beatdown of each other, and the duo did not disappoint.

The promo took place on the main event of WWE SmackDown. A “let’s go, Cena, let’s go Roman” chant emerged before any of them spoke. Roman opened the promo by saying that Cena, like many, came out last week and said a bunch of “dumb stuff.”

Although he enjoyed last week’s promo, Roman will not let Cenamisinform” anyone. The tribal Chief asked Paul Heyman and the audience when was the last time he lost. Heyman said the heel Roman has never lost.

Cena said everything is possible and Roman had no idea what e was in for. Cena said he would go back to Hollywood but he will leave Roman embarrassed. To bring Reigns back into the real world, Cena would just need a “1-2-3.”

While Roman asked everyone to acknowledge him, Cena preached the same mantra for 20 years, “never give up.” Cena just needs a pin to become the most decorated superstar in history.

A furious Roman said Cena should have come back with intellect, when he beats down a wrestler, they are no good to WWE. Roman could do all the things Cena does.

Then Roman did the unthinkable. He said he would either “leave as the champion or leave WWE.” The stakes are now higher than ever as both men shook hands. The Tribal Chief proceeded to attack Cena but the latter pinned him with a roll-up, reminding him of the “1-2-3.”
