Shocking Heel Turn On WWE SmackDown! Otis Dominates Former Tag Team Champions The Street Profits

At the beginning of SmackDown this week (6/11), Chad Gable tried to bury the hatchet between him, Otis, and The Street Profits. He offered to cancel the scheduled tag team match, but Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were not having any of it.
The Street Profits joked about the Alpha Academy, which further angered Gable. While he came with ‘good intentions,’ The Street Profits’ mockery made him change his mind.
Gable took on Montez in a singles match with Dawkins and Otis staying backstage. However, during the match, Otis attacked Dawkins backstage before making his way into the ring.

Otis, now sporting a clean-shaven look with a ponytail, continued to wreak havoc on Montez Ford. He thrashed the former Tag Team champion by throwing him over the commentary table and with a splash.
WWE is solidifying Otis’ heel turn by giving him a fresh, yet intimidating look. Usually, WWE superstars grow out their facial hair to signify their heel turn, but Otis was an exception.

What is next for Otis?
To be honest, Otis has not had a good storyline in a while. First, he ‘lost’ the Money in the Bank contract to The Miz, then his Heavy Machinery partner, Tucker, turned heel on him.
Earlier this year, Otis paired up with Chad Gable in order to bring out his ‘inner alpha.’ The team was now known as the Alpha Academy, and they went on to feature in multiple tag team matches.

They even challenged the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, but were unsuccessful. Eventually, Otis turned heel for the first time after an attack on Rey Mysterio on SmackDown.

As of now, The Alpha Academy will feud with The Street Profits. The latter team must seek retribution following the vicious and uncalled-for attack from Otis.
The current SmackDown Tag Team champions, The Mysterios, are preoccupied with Roman Reigns and The Usos. If this new storyline goes well with The Alpha Academy, then we might see them pursuing the Tag Team titles again.
