WWE Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn, rarely breaks character. His “outspoken” and often considered loudmouth gimmick is both loved and hated by the WWE fans. However, he recently broke his character after WWE SmackDown.
In the Blue Brand, Zayn often feels ‘disrespected.’ Even before his match with Daniel Bryan on SmackDown, he felt that WWE was handing things out to Bryan.
The duo had a great match (which did not end as planned). After the match, Zayn took to Twitter and praised the “People’s Champion.” Not only did he call the match a “privilege,” but he also said, “He is, in my opinion, the best in-ring performer of our generation.”
Sami Zayn ran backstage towards the end of the match and Bryan followed him. After a while, Zayn came back to the ring at the 9th count and won the match.
After the match, we saw Jey Uso attack Bryan backstage and kept him occupied. Zayn’s long-time friend, Kevin Owens, and some referees came and separated the two. Here are some highlights from Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan’s match.
After a feud for the Intercontinental Championship with Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles, Sami Zayn is lingering around. His promos are really entertaining, but he is yet to find a solid opponent.
When Kevin Owens was drafted into SmackDown, fans thought Zayn and him could team up like old times. However, it seems Owens might now go for Roman Reigns.
This week, WWE also hinted at a Big E feud for Zayn. The duo already had a tussle as Zayn ridiculed E’s Intercontinental title reign. Big E, in turn, ridiculed Zayn’s wins via count outs as “vertigo.” This week, the duo shared a hilarious backstage segment. You can see that below –
