Roman and Daniel Bryan have a short history in WWE. They first faced each other at Fastlane 2015, where Reigns beat Bryan to become the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The two had a brilliant match, with Bryan taking the current Universal Champion to the absolute limit. Roman even kicked out of the patented running knee before flattening Daniel Bryan with a match winning Spear.

Daniel and Roman teamed up in 2019 to take on Erick Rowan and Luke Harper in a wild Tornado Tag match at Hell in a Cell. Reigns and Bryan walked out of the match victorious. Their chemistry carried them to a big win against two of WWE’s largest men.

Reigns and Jey Uso have found a new enemy in Daniel Bryan

Reigns won the Universal Championship at Payback. He then embarked on a brilliant reign which was highlighted by his intense rivalry with Jey Uso. Roman managed to beat Jey twice at Clash of Champions and Hell in a Cell. This forced Uso to align with his new Tribal Chief.

As Reigns’ henchman, he was assigned the duty to take out Daniel Bryan in the bid to qualify for Survivor Series. Reigns then instructed Uso to take Bryan out of action with a brutal assault after his victory over Bryan.

In doing so, Reigns seemed to have gotten rid of a potential threat to his title reign. However, Bryan returned two nights before Survivor Series and beat Jey Uso in another intense battle.

Reigns was able to defeat Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series with the help of Jey Uso. After the match, Reigns embraced his cousin, seemingly burying the hatchet between the two. This marks the formation of a very strong alliance on SmackDown.

With Reigns in need of a new challenger, Daniel Bryan seems like the perfect opponent. His wrestling acumen and babyface popularity makes him a suitable stepping stone for Reigns on the road to WrestleMania.
