As promised earlier, WWE Icon John Cena kicked SmackDown this Friday (7/23). This Friday’s show was live from Tonight’s show comes from the Rolling Loud rap festival in Miami, and the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

Cena came out to huge applause, as usual, and he thanked the crowd. The 16-time World Champion said he went to RAW for a “fan Q&A,” his last match in WWE where he ‘disappeared’. He also hyped up his upcoming movie, ‘Suicide Squad.’

Then Cena went on to talk about why he was back again. He claimed Roman Reigns as Universal Champion “absolutely sucked.” Roman Reigns’ complete disregard for the live fans was unacceptable.

At SummerSlam 2021, it would not be just a match but a “chance for all of us to stand up for what we believe in.” ‘Mr. Hustle Royalty Respect’ mocked Reigns for not being there in the ring with him and said Reigns “could not see him.”

Cena promised at SummerSlam Roman would realize who the real champion was. He and the audience tried to coerce Reigns to come out. but instead, Reigns’ special counsel Paul Heyman came out.

Heyman confronted both the crowd and John Cena. Heyman denounced Cena as he said ‘The Leader of Cenation’ was not worth listening to and that was why The Tribal Chief did not come out.

However, Heyman assured Cena and Cleaveland that Reigns would indeed come out later in the night to answer Cena’s challenge. But it would be completely on his terms, and not of the others. Heyman ended the segment by mocking Cena’s entrance theme.

Roman Reigns is most likely to accept John Cena as a contender

Right now, there is no better contender than John Cena. Not only Cena vs Roman would be great for business. It is undeniable that both Cena and Reigns can make the fans respond to them the best.

Right now, there is only Big E who could come through as a contender with his MITB contract. But even that needs build-up. Cena vs Reigns at SummerSlam would serve as the perfect build-up for the upcoming rivalry between Big E and Roman Reigns.

Hence, it is only a matter of time till Roman accepts John Cena’s challenge. But we have to watch for his words before he does so.
