WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 results

The first match of the action-packed night was the women’s WarGames match featuring Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Shotzi taking on Damage CTRL. The Damage CTRL crew featured Iyo Sky, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Bayley. Dakota Kai accompanied Damage CTRL but stayed outside to provide her support as the match was no disqualification.

Winner: The Team of Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Shotzi picked up the win after a grueling match. Despite an epic spot off the top of the cage by Iyo Sky, Damage CTRL was unable to keep Flair’s team down. Bayley did her best to thwart every pin by the opposing team but could not save herself from the ManHandle Slam through the table.

Backstage segment: We got an advertisement segment for Ruffles Chips featuring Alpha Academy, Pretty Deadly, and a surprise by R-Truth. After a fun back-and-forth with what to call crisps or chips, Truth drops the product placement name to end it.

Backstage segment: Sami Zayn and Jey Uso discussed how Randy Orton was still not in the building. Despite being outnumbered and their fifth member not being present, the two had faith they would come out on top.

Gunther vs. The Miz

Winner: Gunther retained his title following a modified Boston Crab on The Miz. Despite The Miz’s best efforts, Gunther’s reign of 533 days will continue after this victory. Even after two low blows, The Ring General was able to keep the match under his control. While The Miz did look strong against Gunther, he was not able to capitalize.

Backstage segment: Another backstage segment where Orton’s absence was at the forefront. This time, it was TheJudgment Day who were excited that Orton was not there for the main event match. This continued the build-up for Cody Rhodes’ team facing a disadvantage in the Men’s WarGames match during the Main Event.

Santos Escobar vs. Dragon Lee

Winner: Escobar won after hitting a Destroyer, followed by a Phantom Driver. Despite a valiant effort by the Lucha star, Lee could not put Escobar down. However, he did have a near-pinfall after hitting Escobar with a sit-out powerbomb.

Backstage segment: Similar to the Ruffle’s product placement, we get The New Day with a Slim Jim’s product placement with a new car. After a minute of talking about the product, The New Day leave.

Rhea Ripley vs. Zoey Stark

Winner: Rhea Ripley retained her WWE Women’s Championship after a rather short match with Stark. Despite getting in some good shorts and a near pinfall by the end, Stark stood no chance before Ripley’s raw power.

Backstage segment: Cody Rhodes was seen reassuring his team of Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso that Randy Orton would be there for their main event match. Rollins didn’t care, while Jey was indifferent. Zayn was the only one who believed Rhodes.

Main Event: Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton vs. The Judgment Day with Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest, JD McDonagh, and Drew McIntyre

Winner: Cody Rhodes and team picked up the win after Randy Orton finally showed up to help the team. Things looked dire at one point after Rhea Ripley brought out the MITB briefcase to initiate a cash in. But then The Apex Predator made his entry. While outnumbered at the start, once Orton got into the ring, there was no numbers disadvantage. After a fair fight and an RKO followed by a Cody Cutter, Team Rhodes walked away with the win.

Post-Match: CM Punk made his return to the WWE once the main event was over to a massive pop from his hometown.
