“The Door Is Open”: WWE’s Billionaire Princess Stephanie McMahon Confessed To Have Considered Serena Williams vs Ronda Rousey Dream Match

Many athletes from other sports are now hoping to have a match in professional wrestling. Over the past few years, we have seen several sports people have to make a transition as pro wrestlers. Similarly, current WWE Chairwoman Stephanie McMahon once described how she wanted to have Serena Williams in her company to face Ronda Rousey.

Earlier this year, Williams had indicated her retirement from Tennis and called it her plan to evolve. This means now she can try her hand at several other things when she isn’t playing tennis professionally.

A few years back in 2018, Yahoo’s Reggie Wade covered an article about Stephanie McMahon’s views on having Serena Williams in WWE. There have been a lot of speculations about whether the tennis legend will ever join WWE. McMahon at Web Summit in Lisbon described her dream of having Williams in her company for a match against Ronda Rousey.

McMahon said, “I actually happened to be on the same flight as her husband yesterday, but Serena Williams — I mean, the door is open, Serena, I love Serena.”

The current Co-CEO of WWE also shared that Serena Williams would be another high-profile woman superstar besides Rousey whom she wanted in WWE. Meka has shown her dominance at the tennis court for several years. It is safe to say wrestling fans are waiting to see her in the ring.

There can be several high-profile matches she can be a part of. For instance, Ronda Rousey and Williams will have a mega-match. Moreover, ‘Momma Smash’ can have a match with another WWE’s super momma Becky Lynch too. 

Also as potential matches for the tennis legend are Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and many more big names in the company. WWE is known to bring in big names and it is safe to say they might have approached Williams previously.

Bianca Belair wants Williams in WWE for a match

There is nothing that the ‘EST of WWE’ Bianca Belair cannot do. She can lift a 300lbs Otis and manage her WBFF participation training alongside the WWE schedule. Similarly, the RAW Women’s Champion can give a high-profile match too.

The current RAW Women’s Champion in an interview with WWE UK in 2020 said, “I also think that someone like Serena Williams would be, actually will be great. Just as a woman, she’s just powerful and strong in what she represents.”
