Paul Heyman believes Roman Reigns can follow Brock Lesnar in UFC

Recently, The Special Counsel of ‘The Bloodline’, Paul Heyman, sat for an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer. He talked about WWE events in Philadelphia and also discussed the current WWE run of Roman Reigns calling him a UFC-level talent like Brock Lesnar.

Heyman said, “He has the agility and aptitude of a Division I athlete and don’t ever lose sight that Roman Reigns could be the UFC heavyweight champion in a heartbeat. The aura of him being presented as The Tribal Chief at times betrays what an extremely — all pun intended — tough man and athlete who stands before you as your tribal chief.”

Heyman also claimed ‘The Tribal Chief’ to be “one of the toughest men to ever step foot into a WWE ring.” Reigns was an All-ACC defensive tackle at Georgia Tech and spent time in NFL training camps. Also, we have seen Reigns unleash his toughness in the ring during his matches against ‘The Beast’.

Who Ended Brock Lesnar’s 503-day WWE Universal Championship Reign?

Reigns is scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal titles at this week’s SmackDown against Riddle. They fixed the match after Riddle won the match against former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn on last week’s SmackDown.

WWE returns to Philadelphia this year

WWE has not held an event in Philadelphia since the 2020 Elimination Chamber. However, two years later, on 8th October, WWE will have an event in front of the Philly Crowd. It will be the Premium Live Event Extreme Rules. Paul Heyman said WWE’s absence will not make Philadelphia fans less fond of their product.

He said, “I don’t know if there is the sentiment in Philadelphia that lends itself to ‘Hey, we’re going to have a good time because we haven’t been here in a while,’. I would suggest in Philadelphia that everyone who plays that city needs to bring their A plus, plus, plus, plus game because the sentimentality of ‘Oh, wow.

He added, “I’m so glad they’re back and they haven’t been here in a while’ wears off after five minutes and then the crowd is demanding and wants what they paid for.”

Heyman revolutionized pro wrestling during the 90s with his Extreme Championship Wrestling. The shows ran out of what is now called the 2300 Arena in South Philly. He brought an element in the business which is now known as “Extreme Matches”.
