UFC has been a competitor of sorts to WWE, although it is MMA based. Several fighters from UFC have jumped ship to WWE, while several WWE superstars have competed at UFC. While these two are not direct competitors, they share a good relationship with each other.

Recently, an 80-year-old WWE legend known for his outspoken nature and famous rivalry with Hulk Hogan took to Twitter to share his opinion on the main event of UFC 285. The main event of UFC 285 saw Jon Jones making his debut as a heavyweight and going against Ciryl Gane. Jones would defeat Gane after a three-year absence from the octagon.

Despite being missing from action for three years, Jones would still return to defeat Gane and win the UFC World Heavyweight Championship. The 35-year-old is a sensational talent and had the fans hooked to their television screens as he plummeted his opponent to defeat.

WWE legend and Iron Sheik provided his opinions on the fight in his own unique way.

The legend himself calling another youngster with such great titles is a wholesome moment, and it surely made Jones’ day after he won the championship. However, The Iron Sheik would further continue to jokingly threaten Jones, and claim that if he ever tried his moves on him, he would break his neck.

Why was Jon Jones absent from UFC for three years?

UFC great Jon Jones made his return to UFC after an absence of three years. He was handed a ban from fighting after getting caught in multiple controversies and walking away from UFC. Jones has always been a sensational talent but had a hard time keeping away his off-court issues.

In 2020, he would walk away from UFC. Around a year later, after his Hall of Fame induction, he would get charged with multiple offenses in Nevada. However, after an absence of almost three years, Jones would return to fight against Gane at UFC 285, while making his heavyweight debut.

Jones’ fans were excited to see their favorite fighter return to the octagon. He won the Heavyweight Championship on his return and has begun destroying opponents that stand in front of him.
