Brock Lesnar and Rena aka Sable have been married for 16 years now. The couple seems inseparable and shares a strong bond with each other. Lesnar on many previous occasions has credited his wife for the unprecedented success he has achieved. Lesnar also thanked her for providing unconditional support to him while he does his magic on the ring and in the octagon. It’s safe to say that The Beast’s career trajectory would have been entirely different if it weren’t for his wife. Hence it will come as a surprise to fans, that there was a time when Sable got tired of Lesnar’s antics and left him.

Brock Lesnar debuted in the WWE back in 2002 and made an immediate impact during his time there. He was meant to be the torch bearer for the promotion for years to come but left abruptly to the shock of many. During his first foray in WWE, he met his future wife Sable, who was also employed by the promotion then.

Brock Lesnar opened up on issues Sable had with him

Lesnar has talked about one incident in his 2011 autobiography ‘Death Clutch’ when Sable left him to go and stay on her own. He wrote, “Like all couples, we had some differences to work through, but Rena was willing to do whatever it would take to make things work. She deserves a lot of credit, because at that time, I was just creating controversy everywhere I turned. One day, of course, I pushed things too far, and Rena decided That she’d had enough of my bullshit. She was smart enough to pack her bags and go back to her own house in Florida.

I knew she was the woman I was going to marry, and I also knew I’d screwed up by driving her away. I started calling her, but she wasn’t going to make it easy for me, I guess I should have taken the hint after a week of her not taking my calls. As things turned out, I’m glad I didn’t take the hint. You can think whatever you want about this statement, but I never really chased anyone before. It just wasn’t my style. Here I am, calling her constantly, and I’ll be the first one to admit I’m begging her to talk to me.” further wrote Lesnar.

Lesnar was quick to acknowledge his mistake and work on his relationship. The Conqueror was unemployed at the time and found the going tough. His dedication to winning over the love of his life again didn’t go in vain as the couple married in 2006.

Lesnar’s career trajectory changed completely

The marriage seemed to flick a switch, as Lesnar went on an unstoppable conquest in his career. He proved his mettle in the MMA promotion UFC by besting opponents such as Randy Couture and Frank Mir. ‘The Beast’ even won the coveted UFC Heavyweight title in the process. A feat that might seem impossible for someone coming from a wrestling background.
