Derrick Lewis is the talk of the town after an impressive knockout victory over Curtis Blaydes at UFC Vegas 19 last night. However, he’s not in the limelight only because of his brutal KO victory, but also for the antics that followed.

Derrick Lewis channels his inner Triple H

It is no secret that ‘The Black Beast‘ is a lifelong WWE fan. Every time he knocks out his opponent, we see him do the trademark Randy Orton RKO taunt followed by The Undertaker’s throat slice taunt.

Last night, though, Lewis added another taunt in his arsenal – Triple H‘s ‘S*ck it’ gesture.

Lewis knocked out Curtis Blaydes with a vicious uppercut. To seal his victory, Lewis followed up with two more punches.

When asked why he dropped those extra punches, Lewis made a wrestling reference again, joking what if [Blaydes] got up like The Undertaker?

In a post-match interview, Michael Bisping asked Lewis who he’d like to face next – Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic, or Francis Ngannou? Derrick Lewis immediately took Miocic’s name and said, “I like them wrestlers,” referencing Miocic’s early wrestling background.

There is no doubt ‘The Black Beast’ likes wrestlers. In fact, he has even shown an interest in joining WWE once he hangs up his MMA boots.

Ken Shamrock, Brock Lesnar, and Bobby Lashley are a few names that tasted success in both WWE and MMA/UFC. Will it be the same for Lewis? Only time will tell.

Stone Cold Steve Austin already believes Lewis could do well in WWE

In an interview with Marc Raimondi of ESPN in 2019, Stone Cold had shared which UFC fighters he thinks would do well in the WWE. He said, “Well, Francis Ngannou. Derrick Lewis. I think Ngannou would scare everybody to death.

“Derrick Lewis is so funny and likable. And he’s such a personality. He’s just this gigantic guy. I think there’s a couple guys there, and I’m not even thinking about the lighter guys. But those guys [Lewis and Ngannou] jump into mind immediately,” Austin continued.
