“I’m Dealing With a Different Guy”: Dana White Noticed Considerable Changes in Vince McMahon’s Behavior From Day 1 of the UFC-WWE Merger

The biggest merger in the sports entertainment industry happened this year. Even though the merger was announced earlier this year, the deal was finally closed on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. After the merger, UFC and WWE now are a part of the TKO group, an umbrella company owned by Endeavor.
With this, UFC’s CEO, Dana White, and WWE’s former proprietor, Vince McMahon are now sort of co-workers. White who has known McMahon for a very long time now says that he has observed some changes in the WWE mogul’s behavior since the deal was struck.

Talking with FanNation of Sports Illustrated, the UFC CEO has talked about how much Vince McMahon’s behavior has changed after the merger. He first gave some insights into how their relationship was before the merger. According to him, McMahon has always viewed him as nothing but competition. “My history with Vince isn’t a good one. He tried to f*** me so many times for no reason whatsoever except just to f*** me.”, said White.

He further added that it is in the past now and he views their relationship now with a different lens. White said, “Since day one of the deal, it’s like I’m dealing with a different guy.” He further added that he has been an incredible partner to him. White interprets it as, “It goes to show that when you oppose him, or he thinks you are opposing him, the guy comes after you blindly.” This highlights the fact that in the world of sports entertainment, Vince McMahon is a force to be reckoned with.

White further explained how much his relationship with McMahon has changed since the merger. Even though his interactions with McMahon have changed, he said his relationship with Triple H has been the same for a very long time.

Further in the interview, the 54-year-old CEO talked about his past and present relationship with Triple H. Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque who is the Chief Content Officer at WWE, took over the role back in 2022 when McMahon had to step down due to some issues. Levesque had interacted with White in the past before the merger happened. White said that Levesque and his wife Stephanie McMahon have been a delight to work with.

“I’ve always had a great relationship with them, always, even when we weren’t aligned back in the day,” White said. With that being said, White still can’t believe how much his relationship with Vince McMahon has changed. He even commended McMahon for his work ethic even at the age of 80. In his own words, Vince McMahon is “the Michael Jordan of the business world.”
