If there’s one thing which is asked to MMA fighters, it’s if they are going to move to WWE. If not WWE, maybe any other wrestling promotion in the future. One such fighter who has faced this question is Randy Couture.
Recently, Couture appeared on The Kurt Angle Show, and during that time, he answered a bunch of questions. One was – if shifting to WWE had ever been on his mind.
The UFC Legend explained that pro-wrestling wasn’t easy, and the schedule was hectic. Moreover, he was already involved in MMA from the beginning, so, wrestling never interested him as such.

“Well, I had no illusions that the job that Kurt was doing week in week out, night after night, was any easier than me going in that cage every couple of months and potentially getting punched and kicked in the head. The grinding gruelling schedule that those guys in pro-wrestling keep is no joke. I think Kurt can attest to that. I think because of our collegiate wrestling roots and then already being involved in MMA, it never really appealed to me.”
While not everyone transitions from MMA to WWE, the ones who have, have been rather successful in the ring!

Randy Couture did not want to work with a script
The UFC Legend began wrestling in the collegiate wrestling field. However, he used to watch pro-wrestlers in action as a child. And, since it wasn’t real, it did not appeal to him.

As time moved on, he wanted to work with collegiate wrestling, scholastic, and Olympic wrestling over pro-wrestling. However, he doesn’t look down upon wrestlers such as Kurt Angle and others who jumped to pro-wrestler as a way of making a living.

In fact, Couture believes that Dana White uses the same Vince McMahon pro-wrestling model for UFC, where fighters and wrestlers jump from one to the other as a way of understanding where they fit best. Two names which are extremely popular for the same are Brock Lesnar and CM Punk. Even Ronda Rousey actually.
If nothing else, fighters make a decent money when working with WWE considering the vastness of the industry giant.
