Mick Foley opens up on The Undertaker’s WWE debut
The 26th February 2023 episode of WWE Rivals – Undertaker Vs Mankind showcases Mick Foley opening up about what he felt when he saw The Phenom inside a WWE ring for the very first time at Survivor Series 1990.
The 1-time WWF Hardcore Champion reveals he knew The Dead Man – real name Mark Calaway – from when they were together in WCW. He shares that in his earlier wrestling days; the two superstars had a very close friendship. In addition, he even stayed at his parents’ house.
Foley then states that he could not believe that the person he saw inside the WWE’s squared circle was none other than his old pal from WCW. He says, “But this guy who showed up at the Survivor Series was The Undertaker. I’m watching the pay-per-view, and I very much realize that this is on a certain level the same guy that I drove with, I split rooms with.”

Mankind vs The Undertaker
Mankind vs The Undertaker was surely the most iconic Hell in the Cell match in the history of the company. The two WWE legends collided inside the 16 feet tall cage made out of pure steel in June 1998. The entire match kept the WWE Universe on its toes. But there were two incidents that took everyone’s breath away.

Foley took two major bumps that rendered him unconscious throughout the match. The first one was when both the Hall of Famers were on the top of the cage and The Phenom threw Foley off the 16-foot tall steel structure. The latter landed on top of the commentator’s announce table.
And the second one was when Taker choke slammed Foley on the top of the cage, resulting in the cage roof breaking and the latter having a nasty landing inside the ring. The Dead Man walked out victorious from the match.
