Tom Brady is retiring from football and this time “for good”. The 45-year-old NFL star made his retirement news public on social media on February 1, 2023. Last year in February, Brady made the same retirement announcement but changed his mind 40 days later.

When the update of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback retiring from football “for good” hit the news, it broke the hearts of millions of fans, including Cody Rhodes. Following the news of the retirement of the NFL Legend, Rhodes made a statement that many can relate to.

Cody Rhodes was not ready for Tom Brady’s retirement

The American Nightmare joined the No. 1 Contender to the NXT Championship Grayson Waller on the recent episode of WWE’s The Bump. Speaking on the show, the 3-time WWE Tag Team Champion revealed he was hoping the former American football quarterback would play for “one more season.” 

“I randomly was hoping for Vegas, just to make a novelty out of it. Even in Miami, I was ready to get buckle up and go. The year that the weekend performed, the pandemic super bowl, I was able to see Tom [Brady] get another ring.” said the American pro wrestler during the interview.

Brady is Rhode’s “favorite football player,” “favorite athlete,” and “favorite inspirational” personality and, just like the rest of the world, The American Nightmare also believes that the California-born NFL star is “the GOAT.”

The 6’4 NFL star has a marvelous career of 23 years. For the first 20 years, he was a member of the New England Patriots, and for the final three years, he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time, Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Rhodes on the road to WrestleMania

Last week, The 2-time Intercontinental Champion punched himself a ticket to WrestleMania 39 where he is going to face the Undisputed Champion, Roman Reigns. The red brand superstar earned this golden opportunity by defeating 30 other men in the Royal Rumble match on Saturday.
