John Cena Talks About Working as a Limousine Driver Before WWE Superstardom: “I Earned Every Single Expletive That I Was Called”

John Cena is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history. Since his debut in 2002, John Cena has gone on to become a 16 time World Champion in the company. He has also headlined and main-evented multiple WrestleManias and many other PPVs. Cena has also granted over 650 wishes for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. 

John Cena has come a long way since his debut. With wrestling, Cena was also interested in acting and has acted in many movies. Some of his most notable movies are 12 Rounds, The Marine, F9, etc.

Following the footsteps of some of his WWE colleagues, John Cena also starred as Peacemaker in the DC movie The Suicide Squad. His role was loved by the audience very much and, as a result, Cena got his very own Peacemaker series.

John Cena right now is very busy promoting his series. He has been a part of various talk shows, interviews, podcasts, to talk about this project. There, he often also shares some of his wrestling stories.

John Cena shares his famous limo-driver story

Before becoming a decorated wrestler and a beloved actor, Cena struggled hard. He moved to Los Angeles from Boston in search of acting opportunities. Cena claims at one time he has stayed in his car in LA. 

But before moving to LA, Cena tried multiple jobs when he was young. One of the odd jobs he did was as a limo driver. Recently, on The Drew Barrymore Show, he shared this memory.

They gave Cena a job driving Lincoln town cars to and from Logan Airport. Cena stayed at West Newbury, Massachusetts, Boston and had never been to the city his entire life. He said that he was a 19 year 225 pounds person preparing for a bodybuilding competition. His car would smell of steamed chicken breast and tuna fish as he would carry his lunch along. 

Cena was not always on time. He said, “So I was always late, I mean late. I would pick people up two and half hours late for their flight. I earned every single expletive that I was called and I gotta hand it to passengers. They come up with some new stuff that I’d never had heard, and I grew up with four brothers.”

Cena has admitted publicly that this was his favorite job he has done before WWE. He always was amused by people giving him a new expletive word every time after he dropped them. Surely Cena has seen some good days and bad days and this hard work of his has made him what he is.

Recently, Cena appeared on the Ellen Show. There, Ellen asked him about his plans for WrestleMania this year. Cena said, ” I don’t know I could make it this year”.

Cena has opportunities for some good movies lined up during the time WrestleMania is being hosted. Therefore, it will be tough for him to make it to the show, unfortunately. Ellen also asked about his WWE wrestling status. Cena replied, “I’m not done with WWE by a long shot. That’s my home, my love.”

So it’s a relief to fans after knowing that Cena will return occasionally and has no plans for retiring yet.

Cena’s love for WWE can get him to appear at WrestleMania. Fans are all hoping to see Cena back in the ring once again full-time and win the World Championship again.
