John Cena is going to star in the latest comedy movie Oscar-winning director Peter Farrelly’s ‘Ricky Stanicky’. The movie will also star Zac Efron and Jermaine Fowler.

The movie is about three friends who invent a fictional friend to get out of problematic situations. But when their spouses get suspicious, they have to hire someone to portray their fictional friend.

The Cenation Leader recently released a major update about his upcoming movie on social media that drew a lot of positive reactions from his fans.

Prime Video acquires John Cena’s new movie

The Champ, via his Twitter handle, updated his fans about Prime Video buying the global rights for the Peter Farrelly film. Sources say that the production of the movie will start around WrestleMania season. Production for the movie is set in Melbourne, Australia.

In his tweet, Cena wrote,Beyond excited to help bring these characters to life (both on and off screen) with an incredible cast, our director and producers and partners at @AmazonStudios @primevide. #RickyStanicky is a best friend to all — can’t wait for you to meet him!”

Fans are excited about The Cenation Leader’s upcoming movie.

WWE gets a cut from Cena’s movies

The Face of WWE kicked off his Hollywood career in a leading role with the movie ‘The Marine’ (2006). The 45-year-old shifted from full-time wrestler to part-time in 2017, in order to pursue his acting career. He has been giving blockbuster movies one after another.

The Doctor of Thuganomics, in an interview, revealed a piece of very interesting news involving his movies and WWE. When Cena was on The Howard Stern Show, he told his fans that WWE owns his in-ring name because of which he has to pay a certain amount of profit from his every Hollywood project.

However, the wrestling legend has no problem in paying the cut to Vince McMahon, as he believes he “owes” The Boss “a lot.” It was Mr. McMahon who gave the 45-year-old superstar “a chance and an opportunity” to rise and shine and the Peacemaker actor believes paying a percentage from his movies is a “sign of respect.”

Since Cena, who once chose Vin Diesel over Dwayne Johnson, shifted to being a part-time wrestler, his appearances in WWE have become sporadic. But he has maintained his record of appearing once a year inside the squared circle since his debut in 2002.
