Cena has won the WWE World Championship, Tag Team Championship, and Royal Rumble. Furthermore, his fans and admirers are found far and wide. However, have you ever wondered how this storm came about? When did this frenzy begin?

Recently, Triple H revealed in an interview why WWE had fore fronted Cena so much. A few decades ago, Cena was the only name anyone ever heard. Not only that, but the current Creative Director also explained why Vince McMahon pushed for The Prototype.

This is imperative to address since a lot of viewers back then wondered why the limelight was always on Cena.

Therefore, in a 2015 interview with Steve Austin, Triple H gives us insights during a Broken Skull Sessions interview.

Triple H explains the popularity of John Cena

Basically, the constant appearance of Cena has helped build the brand value and image. WWE has benefited immensely from headlining John Cena. Triple H countered the argument of always headlining John Cena, with the fact that it’s always successful.

“People will say all the time about Cena like, I read that all the time, ‘don’t we listen?’ People are tired of seeing him, they don’t want to see him win, they don’t want to see this.”

Furthermore, he also suggested that his fan following has not wavered over time. Triple H believed that no matter what, people were still watching him. They were still crazy about him.

“There’s such a long period of time where half the people were booing John and half the people were cheering for him, but he was packing arenas, he sold more merchandise, he was more popular than ever. Everything that we did, John was so far ahead,” he said.

Will he return for a match?

Fans are spectating when The World Champion will come back for a match. In a recent episode of RAW, Austin Theory teased a game with John Cena. He did so by using Cena’s trademark catchphrase.
