Dwayne Johnson bashes USFL over their advertisement

While XFL will be on its course to end season one, USFL will be in its midseason. The USFL will be kicking off on April 15, and XFL will end on May 13. However, to launch the reboot of USFL, the league made an ad that saw a sly jibe at XFL. One of the USFL advertisements says, “This is the USFL, reborn from the OGs. This isn’t some Hollywood knockoff.”

However, DJ doesn’t seem to be liking the ad as he gave his thoughts on it. USA Today covered Johnson reacted to it by saying, “We’re all in entertainment and all connected to Hollywood, so I thought that ad–we got a big laugh out of that ad.”

He added, “Also, it’s much easier to talk trash when you’re hiding behind the corporate walls and a computer. We’re very forward facing. We’re not hard to find.”

The report from USA Today also stated that a spokesperson from USFL declined to comment about the advertisement and The Rock’s reaction. It seems USFL might be planning to compete with XFL after it launches next month.

Nevertheless, The Rock became the co-owner of XFL in 2020, after purchasing XFL for $15 million from Vince McMahon. Hence, as the league progresses DJ will ensure to forward to USFL when they’ll clash directly on TV from April 15. Despite onlookers suggesting that both leagues are in direct competition with each other, a notable personality claimed that both leagues can exist together in harmony.

Dany Garcia says both leagues can co-exist

XFL Chairwoman Dany Garcia shared her thoughts on XFL and USFL clashing on several instances on TV from April 15. She states both leagues can co-exist together for a month.

Garcia said to USA Today, “I do think that there’s room for (both) leagues. I think one great thing about having two leagues in this slot is you’ve got to sharpen, you’ve got to give more, you’ve got to take better care of your athletes.”
