Who sent a message to Hulk Hogan following his request for a retirement match?
Hulk Hogan was the poster boy for WWE during the golden era of wrestling. He delivered some of the most memorable matches against opponents like Andre The Giant, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Macho Man Randy Savage. After conquering the WWE mountain, Hogan moved to WCW in 1994. He donned the villainous gimmick of “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan and formed the legendary faction, nWo with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, replicating the same success there as well.
Despite everything he achieved, the fans and Hogan himself do not remember a proper ending to his storied career. The Hulkster recently reminded the fans that he never got a retirement match. Moreover, he also stated that he would be open for the last dance to put an appropriate end to his wrestling career.
This caught the attention of one of Hogan’s former rivals, The Iron Sheik. The WWE Hall of Famer sent out a ferocious message to Hulk on Twitter, upon learning about his desire to wrestle one last time.

“HULK HOGAN RETIREMENT MATCH? YOU OWE ME BIG TIME JABRONI I BREAK YOUR F**KING NECK YOU HOWDY DOODY HOLLYWOOD BLOND DUMB SON OF A B*TCH.”
Judging from the tone of the message, The Iron Sheik clearly meant that Hulk Hogan owed him a match and he would decimate him inside the squared circle. Nevertheless, The Iron Sheik’s words shouldn’t come as a surprise to the wrestling community considering his history with Hulk Hogan.
Hogan and The Iron Sheik were bitter rivals in WWE
Hulk Hogan and The Iron Sheik had a notable rivalry in Vince McMahon‘s global juggernaut during the 1980s. The two represented different countries, with Hulk being the American Hero for fans and Shiek playing the villain from Iran. The duo first met in 1984 at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. Sheik, then-reigning WWE champion, was scheduled to defend his title against Bob Backlund.

However, Hogan replaced Backlund in the match to fight The Sheik. The match ended in mere minutes as Hulk planted him with a leg drop to win the WWE Championship. Many have proclaimed that moment as the dawn of “Hulkamania.”
Both competitors went on to become top legends of the business. Furthermore, Hogan and Sheik were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2004 and 2005 respectively, immortalizing their place in history.
