Jasprit Bumrah, the key bowler of India across formats was referred to as a “special talent” by former India pacer Zaheer Khan. He thinks that Bumrah’s awkward action has worked as an advantage for him rather than pose a weakness. He further shared that Bumrah has shown the right attitude to achieve success.

“He (Jasprit Bumrah) is a special talent, he has got that awkward action which works as an advantage for him over the batsmen. He is keen to learn and drive to excel. He has been working on his fitness, adding new things to his bowling. He has evolved as a bowler in a short time, that have been the keys to success,” Zaheer Khan told PTI on Monday.

Zaheer Khan played a key role in the 2011 World Cup campaign. However, he thinks wrist spinners like Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have a wide chance of a return as the World T20 is still away.

“They have been transparent about what their approach is. At the end of the day, we just have to wait and see how things evolve and shape up. We have plenty of time for the T20 World Cup (to be held in Australia), so we will have to wait and see how things evolve and what kind of experimentation happens,” he added.

The former speedster also shared a piece of advice for the South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, that he should adopt the conditions quickly. However, he should use the reverse swing to be successful in India in the upcoming Test series, which will begin in Visakhapatnam on October 2. Rabada is one of the top bowlers in current times. In 37 Tests, he has taken 176 wickets so far.

“In India, we will have to see how he adapts to conditions. You have to adapt to conditions and for any fast bowler to be successful in India, he should possess the ability to bowl with the old ball and use the reverse swing. So, I am looking forward to see how Rabada goes about it and how quickly he adapts in the (Test) series,” Zaheer concluded.
