UFC strawweight fighter Angela “Overkill” Hill is quickly becoming one of the more popular names in the division. Before her upcoming main-event fight with Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 177 this weekend, here are a couple of things you should know about her.

1. Hill is a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cooper Union School of Art. Before stepping into the octagon, she worked as an animator in animation studios and as a bartender. She is also a gamer and a cosplayer and has appeared in costumes at her face-offs in Invicta and UFC on multiple occasions.

2. Hill (12-8, 5 KOs) began training in Muay Thai after college for the purpose of self-defense and to get in shape. After being undefeated in sixteen of her kick-boxing fights, she transitioned to MMA. She made her MMA debut after 18 months of training.

However, she was cut after losing two fights in a row. Hill re-signed with the UFC in 2017 after enjoying a four-fight win streak. At UFC Fight Night: Felder vs Hooker (UFC Fight Night 168), which took place in February, Angela Hill broke records in the division and the UFC as a whole due to her active appearances.
