De Gea — 7
Hadn’t much to do, but was alert when called upon. Couple of decent saves makes it a well deserved clean sheet for the Goalkeeper.
Valencia – 7.5
the make shift right back made typical surging run forward and offered good options in the attacking aspect of the game. A good performance by the Valencia.7
Solid at the back, the English centre back continued his good start to the season. His partnership is growing with Daley Blind.
Blind – 8
The centre back was solid, but the highlight of his game was how he came forward and created from the back. His pass to Mata at the end of the first half lead to the first goal which changed the whole match.
Darmian – 7.5
The Italian is proving out to be the best defensive signing in the league. Made some excellent tackles as he played at injured Luke Shaw’s position.
Schneiderlin – 6
Poor performance by the Frenchmen. Way too many misplaced passes, and unnecessary fouls.
Carrick – 7.5
A typical Carrick performance. Picking out accurate passes he had perfect balance between attack and defence.
Mata – 8
Was influential in the left side of midfield. Showed excellent composure to pass the ball to Depay for the first goal. Also produced a good save from Sunderland’s goalie in the second half.
Rooney – 7.5
A much improved second half performance by the captain as he finally ended his Premier League goal draught. His passing was immaculate as always.
Memphis – 7.5
Scoring the first Premier League goal, the Dutch was in good form. His partnership with Martial was probably a delight for any United fan.
Brilliant with the ball and most feared by the Sunderland defenders. Always twisting and turning and looking to create something, he was easily the best player on the pitch though was not on the scoresheet tonight.
