Track and field might have a new star in the 400m
The Muller Indoor Grand Prix Birmingham 2022 was held on February 19th, 2022. This saw some of the new upcoming sprinters take part in the race. Edward Faulds was one of them.
Faulds had revealed before that he will go into the championships to make a statement, aiming to get a World Indoors spot.
?I?m definitely going for the UK Indoor Champs,? he said. ?I want to make a statement and hopefully get a World Indoors spot.”
Undoubtedly, grabbing a spot would mean a lot to him since he is still only 19 years old.

?I?m still an under-20 so it would be a big statement from a 19-year-old to win that.?
And he sure made a mark. Edward started off the race with blazing speed and finish in 3rd third place. But what’s more important is that he broke the European U20 400m record and his own personal record.
Not to mention, Faulds fell headfirst nearing the finishing line. Yet, he finished the race with a timing of 46.16, breaking the Under 20 400m World Record.
It doesn’t matter whether he ran past the finishing line or stumbled across it; Ed Faulds made a point as promised by breaking the record and grabbing the World Indoors spot by coming in 3rd.
Who is Edward Faulds?
Edward Faulds, who just turned 19 in January, is one of the most talented upcoming sprinters. He won the European under-20 title over 400m last year in Tallinn. After that, he also opened the BoXX United World Indoor Tour in Manchester with a victory.
Faulds is a very important sprinter for Great Britain. This is because Britain could not produce any sprinter in the 400 m at the Tokyo Olympics. Hence, with Edward comes new hopes of success for Britain in the track and field.
