The 2022 John Deere Classic has already commenced on June 27 and fans are watching it in high numbers. However, due to the schedule of the Genesis Scottish Open, which is starting this week, the John Deere Classic might suffer. On the other hand, the reason the event is watched by numerous fans is the big names that are present on the list of players.

The first name is the former PGA Tour winner Lucas Glover. Golf star Ryan Moore is also among the names, but we won’t be seeing Kevin Na this year as he is currently playing the LIV Tour. More players like Denny McCarthy and Anirban Lahiri are also playing this year.

Who is the current leader of the John Deere Classic 2022?

American Pro J.T. Poston is currently leading in the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic. The player shot a 9-under 62 and took a two-stroke lead on Thursday. Poston said, “It’s, obviously, why you practice and why you work as hard as you do on your game,”.

While, Canadian Pro Michael Gligic secured the second position at 64, playing in the final group. Following him were Vaughn Taylor and Christopher Gotterup at 65. “Been struggling a little bit physically and haven’t been putting very well,” Taylor stated.

Venue for the John Deere Classic 2022

The John Deere Classic is played on the TPC Deere Run, near the Rock River in Silvis, Illinois. The course opened in 2000 in the place of a former Arabian Horse Farm and has been hosting the tournament ever since. The course is spread over an area of 7,289-yard par 71. The event was initially played by the name Quad Cities Open in 1971. Later, it was moved to TPC Deere Run in the year 2000

Prize money and purses for the event

The total purse for the John Deere Classic is $7.1 million. The winner will get a prize money of $1,278,000. The event has seen a $900,000 increase from last year. The runner-up will be getting a $773,900 sum.
