The LPGA Tour now heads to Malaysia for one of its most anticipated fall stops: The 2025 Maybank Championship. Set to tee off from October 30 to November 2 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, the event features a 78-player, no-cut field competing for a $3 million purse. The winner walks away with a huge individual sum, but the rewards stretch far beyond the paycheck.

With 500 CME points on the line, players in Kuala Lumpur have a real chance to climb the Race to the CME Globe leaderboard. Those coveted points could decide who earns a spot in the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, reserved for the top 60 golfers after The ANNIKA.
Adding to the stakes are the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking points, which determine global positioning. While the champion takes home the lion’s share, the top finishers are also in line for significant payouts. Here’s a detailed look at how the $3 million purse will be distributed this week:

Winning at the Maybank Championship will take far more than just talent. The West Course at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club is known to humble even the best in the game. Stretching 6,536 yards across 72 holes, it demands precision from the tee and composure on the greens. Strategic bunkers, narrow fairways, and shimmering water hazards make every swing a calculated risk.

Take hole 3, for instance, a par-5 that tempts golfers to reach the green in two. A perfectly placed drive to the right of the center bunkers opens the door for an eagle chance. But miss the line, and even a bogey might feel like a relief. The par-4 13th hole is equally unforgiving.
With no fairway bunkers for guidance and a steep uphill approach, accuracy becomes the only ally. Three menacing greenside bunkers stand ready to punish even the slightest misjudgment.
Still, this field is built for the challenge. Led by World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul, 78 of the LPGA’s finest are ready to take on KLGCC’s demanding West Course

Field for the 2025 Maybank Championship
All eyes will be on Jeeno Thitikul as the World No. 1 leads the field. The Thai sensation is the only golfer this season with two LPGA wins to her name, and she now chases her third, and a long-awaited victory in Malaysia. Thitikul came painfully close in both previous editions, finishing runner-up twice. This time, she returns to rewrite the script.
Standing in her way are two familiar foes. Céline Boutier, who edged past Thitikul in a playoff to win the 2023 edition, is back to defend her crown. So is Ruoning Yin, who denied Thitikul once again last year with a clinical four-round performance of 67-67-66-65 to win by a single stroke. The trio’s rivalry has quietly become one of the LPGA’s most compelling storylines.
But the challenge does not end there. The Kiwi LPGA star Lydia Ko is in the mix. With 23 LPGA wins, including 2 majors, she has the skills to win the 2025 Maybank Championship. She had a heartbreak at the International Crown, where her World Team, including Charley Hull, Brooke Henderson, and Wei-Ling Hsu, lost in the semifinals.
Henderson, who played with Ko at the International Crown, will now compete against her. She is the leading Canadian golfer with 14 LPGA wins under her belt. Some other notable names on the field include Yealimi Noh, Auston Kim, Lilia Vu, and Lucy Li.
Beyond the $3 million prize pool, every LPGA golfer in the field will also be chasing 500 CME points. This will be a crucial step toward qualifying for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.
