Since 2017, Fortnite players have witnessed countless changes in the game’s meta. Generally, the developers inform the community of any changes they plan to make. However, Epic Games has secretly removed a lot of items from the game and they remain a secret to the community to date.

Millions of players have played Fortnite since the three years of its release, but many new players join the game every day. On their first login, they receive the default character and pickaxe skins. A lot of players do not know that Epic Games changed the original pickaxe skin after Chapter 1. Also, the original character skins were only available before season 1.

However, the veterans still miss these skins and if they return, they might be some of the rarest items in the game.

Apart from the skins, the original default dance is also not the same as day 1. The emote currently has two songs and players can switch between them. However, those who’ve been playing the game since the beginning remember that there was a third song too. The developers removed the song after season one and the old fans await its return.

Unlike now, Fortnite didn’t have a lot of mobility items in its initial days except the directional jump pad. Players could place the item anywhere and it would launch them in the direction they walked on it. But with the addition of bounce pads, Epic Games silently removed the original directional jump pads.

Last, but not least, the burst assault rifle in Fortnite has its own history of frequent design changes. With chapter 2, Epic Games have completely changed the gun’s design that resembles a FAMAS or an AUG rifle.

Some vaulted items that broke the game meta

The developers always try to spice things up by introducing new items in the game, and sometimes, these items do the exact opposite of what they’re supposed to do. There have been several items in Fortnite that literally broke the game meta, making the game unplayable. As a result, Epic Games removed these items as soon as possible and many players do not even remember them.

The boomboxes destroyed any building in an area for some time, and this affected the game meta significantly. Fortnite’s most distinct feature is its building, and boomboxes ruined this aspect of the game. Professional players also complained about it, and accordingly, the developers vaulted them soon after.
