“A Rematch Between Whittaker and Adesanya Is Massive”-Dana White

Israel Adesanya is on an impeccable run. In the hunt for his next opponent, Dana White might have a popular fighter coming his way for the second time. If Robert Whittaker manages to put on an impressive display at his upcoming fight, fans might be in for a thriller of an event.
The current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is undefeated and boasts of a 20-0-0 record. He most recently went up against Paulo Costa at the main event of UFC 253 and defended his crown in style. He took down ‘Borrachinha’ in spectacular fashion and left him unconscious just minutes into the second round.
Adesanya has been determined to prove himself. He has repeatedly targeted the so-called ‘beasts’ of his division and has always come out on top. Given his unchallenged dominance, he wants to throw down once more in 2020.

Robert Whittaker will take on Jared Cannonier at the co-main event of UFC 254. The winner of this match is most likely to face Adesanya for the title. But having already fought Whittaker a year ago, will White pair them up once again?
Dana White lays down rematch conditions
In conversation with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Dana White answered that very question. He said, “I think that Adesanya has been brilliant in the way that he has played this thing out and the guys that he has fought. Costa got hurt and couldn’t fight, so he says I want Romero… He is looked at as one of the toughest and meanest guys in the division, and I want him. Goes out and does his thing.”

White added, “Now he is looking at Cannonier but the reality is, if Whittaker comes out of this fight and looks impressive, Whittaker vs Adesanya broke all kinds of records in pay-per-view in Australia and New Zealand. Then Adesanya comes back and beats Costa and breaks the record again in New Zealand.”
