If reports from British newspaper Daily Mail are to be believed, Aston Villa are now favourites to sign Barcelona winger Adama Traore – but it’s still unclear whether the player will be signed for a loan spell or on a permanent deal.
If a permanent deal takes place, it will most likely include a buy back clause for Barcelona as is the case with the deals the club negotiated for its other youngsters.
The Claret and Blue have had a busy summer so far, with the signings of Mark Bunn, Micah Richards, Jose Crespo, Jordan Amavi, Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Veretout, Scott Sinclair, Jordan Ayew and Rudy Gestede completed by their manager Tim Sherwood.
And now, the talented Barcelona B winger looks set to be added to the long list of the reinforcements made at Villa Park.
The forward is reported to have been scouted by clubs such as Roma, Bayern Munich, Sevilla, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool but there has been no official offer made for the player by any of these clubs and now the Daily Mail has reported that, despite interest from Liverpool and Stoke City, Villa are favorites to bring in the 19-year-old winger, who has grown through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy.
With blazing speed and superb technical ability combined with his strength of a central traditional striker, Adama would make an impact either as a striker or even as a winger for Villa, with Sherwood undoubtedly looking for as many attacking threats as possible after the sale of Christian Benteke to Liverpool.
After Gerard Deulofeu and Denis Suarez, Adama Traore also gets added to the list of La Masia stars who were sold or loaned out by the Catalan club to give them quality playing time and then in most cases bringing the player in after they have been developed to the level of the treble winners.
