The match between the two superstars was promoted heavily. The former WWE superstar promised to deliver a match worth 5+ stars. Despite La Sombra’s best efforts, Omega won the match with a one-winged angel.

However, some fans and critics, including, Dave Meltzer, were not happy with the match. Following the event, Meltzer expressed his disappointment, “It felt like Kenny Omega was working to have a really good match, but Andrade was working to have only a good match.”

In comparison, Meltzer put over Kenny Omega vs Christian Cage on Impact where the latter won the Impact World Championship. After Meltzer’s statement, Andrade took to Twitter and accused him of holding a personal grudge.

He wrote on Twitter, “That man (Meltzer) hates me and will never speak well of me or my fiancée (Charlotte Flair) but all the fans love him for the garbage that comes out of his mouth. I’m a pro and I showed it yesterday and LA SOMBRA is back to show everyone I’m better than waiting for a stupid star rating(DM).”

As many might not know, Andrade was supposed to win the title from Kenny. However, AEW intervened and stopped the title change. This led fans to believe that there are more exciting things coming his way on AEW.
