This event was originally scheduled to take place in April at the Marion County Fairgrounds. However, the COVID-19 outbreak forced GCW to postpone it.

After Moxley successfully defended his title against Eddie Kingston on AEW Dynamite, MMA star Barnett declared his opponent for Bloodsport.

The GCW events usually feature matches that can only be won by two methods – submission or knock out. Furthermore, a basic canvas platform without any ropes or turnbuckles replaces the usual ring.

Going back to the previous version of the event, Jon Moxley was all set to take on Josh Barnett himself. Unfortunately, he had to back out owing to an elbow infection.

Many pro-wrestlers have been a part of Bloodsport’s previous events. Popular names include Timothy Thatcher, Walter, and Matt Riddle. Even MMA stars like Dan Severn and Frank Mir have graced the GCW arena with their presence.

Bloodsport’s first-ever issue was known as Matt Riddle’s Bloodsport with the current WWE sensation headlining the event.

On the flip side, Chris Dickinson is a Bloodsport veteran. He lost to Severn in the first event and in the second one, he defeated The Butcher. Finally, he lost to Barnett at the third Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport main event.

Therefore, the Bloodsport veteran’s match against the AEW champion will be the boost he needs to advance his career forward in the world of combat sports.
