‘The Machine’ Brian Cage, alongside Team Taz, has been hunting for Sting and Darby Allin for quite a while now. This week, things took an unexpected turn as Cage turned face for the first time in his AEW career, leaving the co-members in Team Taz shocked.

Brian Cage turns face, showers praise for Sting

Sting and Darby Allin came out to the stage as the latter claimed that he wants to be a fighting champion. Hence, to do that and to pay tributes to Brodie Lee, Allin challenged any member of the Dark Order to face him for the TNT Championship. Just before ‘The Icon’ could take the mic and have a moment for himself, Team Taz interrupted.

All members of Team Taz came out with Brian Cage leading the charge. ‘The Machine‘ got into Sting’s face and said something that no one expected him to say. Cage praised Sting and said that he respects him a lot. This, of course, didn’t garner a positive reaction from Team Taz.

He said, “After all the back and forth, the physicality, and the damnest street fight in this business – I gotta say, I respect you.”

Team Taz’s faces turned red as Brian Cage said he respects Sting. Taz even tried to stop Cage from talking, but the big man shoved him off and completed his praise for ‘The Icon.’

“And more importantly, I wanted to come out here to look you eye to eye, and tell you Ricky Starks is wrong. With or without your bat, you’re still ‘The Icon,'” concluded Cage.

The former Impact World Champion’s face turn is something no one saw coming, not even Team Taz. Just as Brian Cage finished saying that Sting is still ‘The Icon,’ Taz snatched the mic from his hand. The entire faction surrounded Brian as they wanted to know why he said what he said to their #1 rival – Sting.

Is this face turn the beginning of a Team Taz break-up?

Team Taz has a lot of potential, and Brian Cage can lead the pack as their dominant leader. But, with this sudden face turn, they left us scratching our heads, wondering if this is the beginning of the end.

Honestly, we don’t think Team Taz will dissolve. It’s a no-brainer that AEW has a thing for factions, and they definitely wouldn’t want to end one.

Even if Cage leaves Team Taz, the faction will remain intact, and we might even see a new leader. This face turn could very well be the beginning of Brian Cage’s journey as a singles wrestler.
