COVID-19 is yet again messing up the sports programs in America. The latest victim to this was AEW Dynamite, as they had to cancel a scheduled match this past Wednesday.

Reports noted that the authority canceled the match after a threat of infection. The match was not promoted but was going to be advertised late. AEW scrapped the match after two participants tested positive for COVID-19.

Per reports, there is no news on who the participants were. They were both fully vaccinated and had no symptoms. Authorities found out about the diagnosis earlier that night before the match could be promoted.

Similarly, there were some issues at the UWM Panther Arena in Milwaukee for Wednesday’s AEW TV taping. The venue was understaffed and the credit card machines were not working properly. This led to fans waiting in long queues for a significant amount of time, but ultimately they could purchase nothing.

Despite all this, Wednesday’s show was a massive success. It broke several records in terms of ratings and was the number 1 cable TV program for the night. You can check out more about that here and here.

AEW to start taping their programming from a new location

Various reports confirm that AEW will tape Dark most weeks at Universal Studios, and the taping will be open to the public. Before this, Dark was being taped alongside Rampage and Dynamite, i.e. on the road.

AEW taped two episodes of Dark last Friday at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, with the second episode set to air on August 31. The tapings will take place at a sound stage, similar to old Impact Wrestling tapings.
