Dave Meltzer speculated that the decision to keep Omega as the Champion was because of his defeat on AEW Ramage against Christian Cage. Cage defeated Kenny Omega in the debut edition of AEW Rampage to win the Impact World Title. AEW wanted Kenny not to lose two titles in a row and hence scrapped the idea of Andrade dethroning Omega from his AAA Mega title.
