Reports that AEW’s Chris Jericho is not working with New Japan Pro Wrestling anymore were making rounds. However, this may not be the exact situation.

While it’s true he is not working with the promotion anymore, he revealed he hasn’t been under contract with NJPW for a year now.

It’s unknown exactly how the rumour spread like fire on social media. Nevertheless, it escalated to a point where Jericho had to address it.

Reports have stated that Chris Jericho will not be working with New Japan Pro Wrestling after former President Harold Meij did not appreciate the deal because of the expenses and cost the promotion had to bear.

Jericho had revealed in other interviews that he still desires to work with the promotion. He believes there is still much to gain from the promotion with matches against names such as Jay White, Minoru Suzuki, Kota Ibushi, and Will Ospreay.

During his time with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Jericho had won the Intercontinental Championship. Furthermore, he faced four of the biggesr names in NJPW’s roster during that time – Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, and Tetsuya Naito.

Regardless of whether or not he works with NJPW in the future, he’s left an impression on the promotion that will not fade anytime soon.

What is Chris Jericho doing in AEW?

Currently, Jericho is working with AEW and is in an interesting storyline involving his faction, The Inner Circle, and MJF’s faction, The Pinnacle.

The two factions started feuding when MJF betrayed Jericho, quit The Inner Circle, and formed his own faction. Following that, The Pinnacle took over The Inner Circle’s locker room but faced brutal consequences.

Coming to AEW Blood and Guts, The Pinnacle secured a tremendous victory over The Inner Circle. In fact, MJF dropped Jericho from the top of the steel cage and injured him.

However, Jericho returned on the next episode with a tank of bubbly, interrupted The Pinnacle’s segment, and sprayed them. Later, Jericho accepted a rematch where MJF added the stipulation that if The Pinnacle won, The Inner Circle would dismantle.
