AEW to Debut Another Major Championship Soon

The women’s division in AEW is slowly becoming one of the best divisions in the pro wrestling business. The current AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker has been exceptional with back-to-back blockbuster matches.

The latest addition of former WWE superstar, Ruby Soho, has also elevated the women’s locker room. And it looks like AEW is going to capitalize on this opportunity and draw some more eyes to their product.

AEW willing to add a new title for the women’s division

According to Andrew Zarian of ‘Mat Men’ podcast, Tony Khan’s company is currently looking to add another title for the incredible female superstars of their locker room.

However, it is not clear that the company is bringing a singles championship or a tag team championship. Denise Salcedo further added that it will be a TBS Championship belt.

All Elite Wrestling currently has a TNT Championship; TNT is the network provider for all their matches and events. Adding the TBS Championship would also work well for the company because TBS is an American pay television network owned by the Turner Networks division of WarnerMedia Studios and Networks.

The simple decision of letting women headline one of AEW’s biggest Wednesday nights speaks volumes about the trust AEW has in their female superstars.

The main event was nothing short of a spectacular match, where Britt Baker and Ruby Soho exchanged blows and the capacity crowd simply loved it.

Eventually, Baker beat Soho to defend her title, again. It will be interesting to see the new title for the women’s division as it will bring out more talent.
