Mike Tyson to make AEW comeback

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson appeared in All Elite Wrestling for the first time at last year’s Double or Nothing PPV. He presented the newly introduced TNT Championship, which Cody Rhodes won later that night. Tyson appeared the following night on Dynamite and almost traded blows with Chris Jericho!

Fast forward one year later, Mike Tyson will appear on AEW Dynamite again. AEW broke the news on their social media handles about Tyson’s return to the company. There is no word on what Tyson will do on AEW Dynamite this time round. One thing is for sure, he’s not continuing his program with Chris Jericho.

Yes, we know a continuation of the program with Jericho would make the most sense, but now, Jericho and the Inner Circle are in a blood rivalry with MJF and The Pinnacle. We don’t think AEW would want the feud between the two factions on the back burner for Jericho and Tyson to feud or have a program.

One of the major reasons AEW is advertising Mike Tyson for tomorrow’s Dynamite is because of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. This week, AEW Dynamite will go head-to-head against Night 1 of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. It’s a no-brainer that a TakeOver on USA Network will draw more viewers.

Many fans also wondered why AEW advertised Mike Tyson for the show, instead of having a surprise appearance. The reason is the same. TNT wants their ratings to be at par despite NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver running head-to-head against them.

Another reason TNT advertised Mike Tyson ahead of the show is that the network did not want to have any surprises on their broadcast. They wanted to make most of their ratings and retain them with announcements before time. Hence, they announced Paul Wight’s appearance on Dynamite and also announced a big debut.
