This week, Inner Circle and Pinnacle held a parley where each of the members attacked their opponents with words. Although Sammy Guevara, Shawn Spears, MJF, Santana, and Ortiz did a good job, it was Jericho who stole the show with his words.

Jericho spoke directly to MJF and called him a “self-righteous, self-gratifying little prick.”The Le Champion” said he earned his spot as he wrestled all over the world, including Mexico, Germany, and Japan. He earned respect and reputation by gathering experience all over the world.

He claimed that he will win the upcoming match as they are “blood and guts” themselves. In contrast to MJF knowing his Pinnacle mates for 6 months, The Inner Circle family “has been part of AEW since Day 1.” Jericho then turned to Jake Hager and gave personal information.

“This man had my back when I was threatened with assassination in Abu Dhabi, 2012,” Jericho revealed. “These ‘lapdogs’ are a pack of wild animals that have torn and clawed their way to the top of AEW. I owe them for that.” Later, Jericho confirmed the story.

Back then, Jericho was with WWE. The incident most likely occurred during WWE’s first-ever Abu Dhabi show at Zayed Sports City International Tennis Complex on February 11, 2012.

Jericho teamed with The Miz against CM Punk and R-Truth, while Hager (then Jack Swagger) wrestled Santino Marella.

Chris Jericho is confident about his AEW Blood and Guts match

The Blood and Guts match is the first of its kind in AEW. There will be a steel cage. Two members from each group will start the match. They will have five minutes to themselves and then new members will come in every two minutes.

The new members will alter from both the teams. Once everyone is in the match, the wrestlers have to make their opponent “submit or surrender.” Pinfall, count-outs, or escaping the cage won’t be counted as a victory.

During the parley, it was decided that the Pinnacle would have the advantage to have their member enter the match first. Sammy Guevara would be the first person from Inner Circle.

Coming back to Jericho and the Parley, he revealed the Pinnacle would have to kill them to make them submit or surrender. When they could not, the Inner Circle will step on them.

Jericho ended with, “If 1969 was the summer of love, 2021 is gonna be the summer of violence and pain for the Pinnacle. Next week on May 5th at Blood and Guts, summer starts early for you!”

Rather than WWE’s conservative version of the WarGames genre at NXT, AEW is going the original route. After the scathing promo, fans are pumped up for the upcoming match between the two notorious stables.
