While MJF announced Nick Gage would be Jericho’s next challenge, the ‘Demo God’ didn’t get taken aback. In fact, he revealed that he would bring his ‘Painmaker’ persona against ‘MDK’ and he did!
The match between the two was an absolutely brutal and bloody affair. While Gage was out to finish ‘Le Champion,’ the latter was out to overcome the odds to get a crack at MJF.

The bloody war between Chris Jericho and Nick Gage
Nick Gage and Chris Jericho made their entrance to a huge reception for the main event clash. While Jericho brought the Painmaker persona, Gage came out with a legitimate pizza cutter! Gage didn’t wait for long to use it as he slashed Jericho on the bicep as soon as the bell rang.

Both men traded blows as they action went back and forth, even spilling outside the ring for a brief period of time. ‘Le Champion’ took control outside the ring with an Irish Whip on the barricade to Gage, and then got him back to the ring.

However, as Jericho climbed the top for a top-rope move, Nick Gage regrouped and connected a Superplex and Falcon Arrow combo (just like Seth Rollins!) The action between the two kept getting intense with each passing minute in the match.

After the pizza cutter, Gage did the unthinkable by getting out light tubes! However, Jericho saw what’s coming, got his hands on Floyd the baseball bat, and connected two shots on Gage’s gut and back. As Jericho went for the third shot, Gage countered and gauged him with another pizza cutter on the forehead!

The ‘Painmaker’ stands tall at AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen
In the closing moments of the match, Nick Gage set up two glass panes on steel chairs. He then brought out every deathmatch weapon and went on top. Sadly for ‘MDK,’ Jericho caught up and hit an Avalanche Frankensteiner, sending Gage through the glass panes he himself set up!
Despite being a bloody mess, Gage fought back and countered with a Spinebuster. He then followed up by smashing light tubes over Jericho’s head. Gage wasn’t done there, he took a broken glass tube and gauged Jericho on the forehead and just above the eye.

With both men bleeding profusely, Gage went for the kill with a bundle of light tubes. However, Jericho countered with a green mist and then smashed the bundle on Gage’s head. He then connected with the Judas Effect for the win.
This was truly a bloody battle between Jericho and Gage. Chris Jericho has shown once again why he is the Best in the World at what he does. A legend that has stood the test of time and always will.
