The AEW Universe was put on celebration notice earlier today when fans received delightful news from former AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi Rhodes. 

On AEW Dynamite today, ‘The American Nightmare’ announced that he and Brandi were expecting a child! This news came with a massive reception from the crowd present there. 

As of now, the gender of the child has not been revealed, and it is unknown whether the couple will choose to have a gender reveal party on the show or not. 

Undoubtedly, Brandi will be out for months, which will leave a bit of a gap in the AEW Women’s Division. However, we can expect Cody to continue for the time being. 

Cody Rhodes and Brandi are key figures in AEW

The couple has been married for 7 years now and has been through thick and thin. Brandi herself grew into her boots as a professional wrestler by working with her husband in IMPACT Wrestling and ROH before joining AEW.

The two are held in very high regard in the promotion. Cody Rhodes is the Executive Vice President of the company while Brandi is the Chief Brand Officer.

The couple announced the good news through a video that aired on AEW live earlier today. Brandi teased her excitement for the episode a few hours ago, but no one expected this one.

After losing his AEW TNT Championship to Orange Cassidy, Cody had no big storyline holding him down to the shows. Brandi on the other hand did have something with Jade Cargill, but we can expect that to come to an end abruptly.

Apart from a snide congratulation from MJF following the match, Cody and Brandi can enjoy the beautiful moment after yet another successful Dynamite episode. 

AEW has taken a comfortable lead over NXT for the past two weeks. Even if Cody takes an off, the show will be in good hands as AEW gets bigger and bigger every week.
