Kenny Omega and Don Callis told an intriguing story

Surprisingly, the star-attraction, Kenny Omega, was silent except for the last five minutes. A fiery Callis did most of the talking and delivered a scintillating promo.

He revealed how Omega’s uncle, The Golden Sheikh, helped him as a young professional wrestler in Canada. To return his massive debt, Callis had taken the responsibility to make Omega the greatest wrestler in the world.

Five years ago, Callis returned to professional wrestling as a color commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling. While many thought that was because of his undying love for the art of professional wrestling, Callis revealed a nefarious scheme behind his comeback.

It was all a systematic plan to install Omega at the pinnacle of the wrestling world. Three years back, Callis booked Omega against Chris Jericho to change the course of wrestling history.

As Tony Khan himself has revealed, that gave him the inspiration to start All Elite Wrestling. Things came full circle on last week’s AEW Dynamite when Callis helped Omega to dethrone Jon Moxley.

Biggest screwjob since Montreal

Callis called this massive heist “The Golden Screwjob” and termed it as the greatest one since Montreal. However, Callis explained how it was necessary to shape history in the right manner.

As per him, some people make matches, other make memory, but people like him and Omega make history.

At this point, Matthews asked Omega if his actions last week’s had tarnished his legacy. While an irate Callis berated Matthews, Omega sought to justify his actions.

He blamed Moxley for crossing the lines of a fair battle by striking his “father figure” in Callis. After that, it was a fight to the bottom and only the victor mattered.

Kenny Omega vs Rich Swann?

Post that, Omega came to the most intriguing part of his promo. He revealed that he had come to IMPACT Wrestling to win the World Championship.

While he is already the biggest Champion in the world, there’s no harm in picking up some titles in his free time. In saying that, he established his dominance while also sowed the seeds for a future feud with Rich Swann by belittling him and his title.
