Callis joined the company as Co-Executive Vice President along with Scott D’Amore in 2017 before he joined the commentary team. Now, Fightful Select has reported that Don Callis is no longer working with IMPACT Wrestling in any capacity.

It’s reported that the exit wasn’t a surprise considering Callis was steadily reducing his responsibilities. IMPACT was streamlining the creative team during this time. There is no news on whether or not IMPACT will hire a replacement for Don Callis.

Don Callis will continue his work with Kenny Omega

The exact reason for his departure is unknown. Nevertheless, things between both sides are good.

However, Don Callis will continue to move forward with his alliance with Kenny Omega. The duo formed an alliance at AEW Winter Is Coming, as Callis helped Omega secure the AEW World Championship. He was on Omega’s side when the latter secured the IMPACT World Championship.

Currently, Kenny Omega is a triple champion and is going to defend all three titles in the future.

He’s defending the AEW Championship title against PAC and Orange Cassidy at Double or Nothing. He’s defending the IMPACT Wrestling World title against Moose at Against All Odds. Finally, Omega will defend the AAA Mega title against Andrade at TripleMania.

Coming to Omega holding both IMPACT Wrestling title and AEW title, Booker T had something interesting to say about this situation.

He believes that no company can benefit from having their primary title in the hands of a pro-wrestler who is signed with another company. Therefore, when Omega won the IMPACT Wrestling title, it was quite shocking to know that the company signed off on it.

The WWE Hall of Famer explained that it would hurt IMPACT Wrestling’s credibility in the long run because they allowed this to happen. Otherwise, they will need to set up a rematch as soon as possible and bring the title back to the company and put it in the hands of someone who is signed with IMPACT Wrestling.
