One of AEW’s crown jewels is the one and only Cody Rhodes, who just got off a reign as AEW TNT Champion. Rhodes is an extremely experienced wrestler, fighting across several known wrestling promotions.

His days as a professional wrestler once crossed paths with TNA, and he briefly wrestled there for nearly a year. While it may not be as memorable a run as his work for AEW, WWE, or even Ring of Honour, Cody did give us some good moments.

In a recent post on Twitter, Cody revealed how he ended with IMPACT. He also added the shocking yet funny reason he left the promotion for ROH in 2017.

Cody wrestled for TNA along with his time in ROH. His non-exclusive deals with both promotions enabled cross show appearances. Cody did not stay long but managed to have a major card match against Moose and Eddie Edwards along with a teased feud with Aron Rex.

He also helped his wife Brandi Rhodes rise as a wrestler by having a couple-fight angle storyline with Mike Bennett and Maria. Brandi is now a regular on the AEW roster.

Cody Rhodes found his way to AEW through ROH

The move to ROH proved to be the decisive moment for Cody. He made a huge impact was even ROH World Champion at one point.

Cooperating with The Young Bucks, Cody decided to launch All-in as a major PPV for indie wrestlers. The widely successful show gathered immense viewership and was the best PPV of the year.

The success of All-In propelled the start of AEW, which now rivals WWE. Cody is a star attraction in the show and plays an important role in building new stars.

He can be a key influence for future stars as AEW builds up. Tony Khan must, however, never make the mistake of giving away his parking spot.
