AEW has apparently made another big addition to the roster. Earlier today, wrestler Ivelisse herself revealed the big news that AEW had signed her on contract. This came as welcome news to the fans.

Ivelisse has been involved with AEW since August 2019, when she competed in the Women’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out. She then made sporadic appearances in the promotion.

Now, it seems as if AEW has signed her on a full-time basis. In an interview with Pro Wrestling Junkies, Ivelisse revealed that she had in fact signed with the promotion. She did not provide details and ramifications of her contract, so we still do not know what kind of deal AEW has marked out with her.

“La Sicaria” mentioned that she signed the contract the same week in which her house burned down. It probably was a bitter-sweet celebration. This incident occurred last month, which means that Ivelisse has been working for AEW as a full-time talent AEW for about a month now.

The main question is- Why hasn’t AEW confirmed the signing yet? Normally, the promotion announces the newly signed Superstars quickly on Instagram and Twitter.

AEW could have big plans for Ivelisse

This silence could only mean that AEW’s plan is to introduce Ivelisse in style. We could see her getting a major shot at Hikaru Shida in the short future. However, she will take some time to build up the points for that.

In July 2020, Ivelisse became a semi-regular and worked on Dark, the promotion’s sub-brand. After working with Diamante for a while, the two became tag team partners. This culminated in their participation in the Tag Team Tournament, which they won to become the new champions.

Most recently, Ivelisse competed against Thunder Rosa in a very awkward match. The two did not work together well, and there was a lot of observable friction between the two.
