Last week, ‘Machine Gun’ Karl Anderson challenged Jon Moxley to an IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship match. The champ happily accepted, and the contest was made official. However, fans were wondering if this is all a ploy to get the title off Moxley as he’s been off TV for some time due to daddy duties.

The ‘wondering’ stopped this week as Moxley sent a loud and clear message to everyone thinking of laying down a challenge to him. How? Well, the ‘Deathrider‘ kicked out of a Stun Gun off the second rope! Karl Anderson did everything in his power and ability to win the title, but Jon Moxley is a different breed altogether!

Moxley retained the title after connecting with the paradigm shift. However, this win and the title grabbed someone’s eyeballs. And that someone is none other than the ‘Murderhawk Monster’ Lance Archer.

Immediately after Moxley’s win, Lancer Archer appeared and laid down a challenge to Moxley for the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship next week. He said Moxley beat him (Archer) to win the title over a year ago in Tokyo, Japan, and has gone on to defend it against some top names in the business.

He further added that now was the ideal time to get the rematch for the title. In addition, he said it would be fitting if the two fought in a Texas Deathmatch. After all, they fought in the same match when Moxley won the title. Plus, they will be in Dallas, Texas, next week.

Later in the night, Mox gave his answer to Lance’s challenge. He said, he survived Lance Archer in Tokyo and also in Jacksonville. But he has also realized that Archer won’t stop coming after him because he wants to end his career. However, Mox doesn’t care, and he happily accepted.

He said, “The way I look at it, I’ll get them before they get me. I’m not the hunted, I’m the hunter. There is only one boogeyman in New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling, and it’s Jon Moxley, the IWGP US Heavyweight Champion.

Mox concluded, “You want Texas? Death? Lancer Archer next week, you will be not only Texas born, Texas bred, next week in Dallas you are Texas Dead!”
