The match cannot be referred to as just a match. It was a physically dominating war between two champions, where one put everything on the line while the other wanted to take everything. It was the ultimate battle of champions.

First, it was Christian who dominated the match. He put Omega into the barricade and followed it with a brutal plancha.

However, Omega did not let the domination last, and he turned the tables with a table. After putting down Cage, he put a table on him and stomped on it, breaking into two halves. But this wasn’t enough to keep Christian Cage down.

Now it was time for the interference. As Don Callis watched from ringside, he brought in reinforcements for Omega. On his signal, The Good Brothers came out to Omega’s aid. To keep Omega from getting disqualified, Callis kept the referee busy. But Christian Cage, quick as a cat, put down Doc Gallows.

Finally, Callis himself entered the ring to distract Christian Cage. This gave Kenny Omega the time to regroup, and ultimately Omega defeated Cage. This was Cage’s first loss in AEW, and Omega remains the AEW World Champion.

It’s the next bit which will be interesting. Christian Cage had vowed to take the belt from Kenny Omega, but failed. However, it’s not like Cage to give up and it’s unlike Omega to shy away from a challenge. Will there be a rematch? One can hope so!
