AEW Suffers Major Setback Ahead of Full Gear PPV
AEW is having a hard time in their sales department as the company struggles to sell out its tickets. According to recent reports, there are still about 80 tickets left for AEW’s next pay-per-view- Full Gear.
This is a very surprising piece of information since AEW has an absolutely stacked match card for Full Gear. Pitting major Superstars against each other, many expected the event to be sold out very quickly.

In the recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Sports Journalist Dave Meltzer was also “shocked” by the fact that Full Gear isn’t sold out yet. The tickets should have all been gone by Saturday.
AEW has planned a blockbuster MJF vs Chris Jericho match for Full Gear. This pits two of the best mic talents in the company against each other.
Jon Moxley, Matt Hardy, Sammy Guevara, Cody Rhodes, and Darby Allin will all be competing. Kenny Omega will also take on “Hangman” Adam Page in a huge feud ending. FTR will face off The Young Bucks in a battle for Tag Team dominance.
To sweeten the deal, AEW has thrown in Orange Cassidy vs John Silver. However, this has not helped much in the sales either.
AEW sales have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
The reason for this big deficit in AEW is clear. The COVID-19 pandemic has a huge role to play in the sale of tickets. The answer is also quite simple- people are scared of contracting the virus.

Normally, wrestling fans would not mind flying into Jacksonville to see the event. However, the fact that there is a chance of catching something turns decisions away from Full Gear.
According to Meltzer, AEW would have easily sold 12,000 tickets, but the fans have safety in mind first. Even though AEW does offer a safe pod space for each group or family, fans don’t feel it’s worth the risk.

The Observer also noticed that Jacksonville had exhausted itself. The stadium has hosted multiple shows over the months and has stretched local interest thin.
AEW will have to do with a less than full crowd for Full Gear. The good news is that the ringside seats have all been taken. Seats are still available for the higher stands and upper areas of the stadium.

Full Gear will be a major success no matter what. AEW has done it yet again with the great content and I doubt the fans will be disappointed with the event.
