Kenny Omega Reacts to Losing the Impact World Title to Christian Cage on AEW Rampage

This Friday marked the very first episode of AEW Rampage, which premiered from the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The flagship show had two of its best wrestlers in AEW to kick off its era – Christian Cage and ‘The Belt Collector’ Kenny Omega who put his IMPACT Championship on the line.
The fans and everyone backstage liked the match the two wrestlers put together. Eventually, Christian Cage ‘outworked’ Kenny Omega and won his first championship after 7 long years.

However, Cage’s victory seems to have affected Omega deeply as he left a rather emotional message with a bit of warning on his Twitter, saying that he felt cheated and his baggage felt lighter at the airport [indicating that his loss of two belts].
He further added that he’s putting everyone on notice and made sure that he took his loss at the very first fight at AEW Rampage personally, and will be out for revenge.
“Not a cheerful ride to the airport. Baggage is light and I feel so cheated and disrespected. You’re all on notice. I’m taking this personally.” Omega wrote.

Surely, to think Omega would let this loss slide over would be a mistake for Cage, who won the IMPACT Championship after years; however, Cage should be more careful moving forward.
Kenny Omega and Christian Cage set the tone for AEW Rampage
The very first fight for Ramage was between Cage and Omega, which seemed like an excellent choice as the two wrestlers have an indestructible resume when it comes to captivating the audience.
The match started off with swift back-and-forth strikes offered from both the wrestlers, displaying a combination of moves.

There was a spot when Christian was on the top turnbuckle and it seemed like Omega was going to deliver a suplex, but Cage somehow countered it into a sunset bomb to a huge pop from the audience.

Eventually, Cage won the match when he delivered his finisher ‘Killswitch’ on Omega. This incredible win left the fans amped for the remainder of the event.
