Miro has become the feared competitor WWE did not see in him. His TNT Championship reign began only a couple weeks ago, but he’s now taken down one of AEW’s biggest men. At Double or Nothing, Miro took down Lance Archer, Jake Roberts and his snake.

The TNT Champion and the MurderHawk Monster put on a war full of big moves and crazy spots. Archer pulled off his signature ropewalk moonsault while Miro showcased his strength with an overhead suplex. Not only did Miro successfully suplex Archer, he tossed him over the barricade.

It looked like the new champion was too much for the challenger, but Jake Roberts walked out to even the odds. In his hand was a bag, and he teased removing his trusty snake.

However, the ruthless champion launched the bag out of the ring after swinging it around like a toy. Of course, the bag must’ve been empty, but the spot made Miro look like a beast.

Archer took advantage of the distraction and nailed Miro with a giant chokeslam for nearfall. After that didn’t work, Miro used his ring awareness and kicked the middle rope into Archer’s groin. Referee Aubrey Edwards missed the spot, allowing Miro to hit a vertical suplex and lock in the Game Over.

Miro stretched Archer and wrenched down on his back before locking in a choke-hold. The MurderHawk Monster did not tap out but passed out to the submission move, giving Miro his first successful title defense.

What’s next for the TNT Champion?

By the looks of it, we haven’t seen the end of this rivalry. With Jake Roberts in his corner, Archer will have an advantage over the champion, and we could see a rematch on Dynamite. However, there’s no way AEW ends his reign this early.
Once the Archer rivalry ends, we could see the Bulgarian Brute square up against another former WWE superstar Christian Cage. Cage’s performance in the Casino Battle Royal was impressive even though he didn’t win. A match against Miro for the TNT Championship would be a delight to watch, and Cage would do what he does best- put over talent.
The move that made the Best Man an unstoppable beast was his betrayal of Kip Sabian. Upon returning, we should see a long and storied rivalry between the two former friends for the TNT Championship.
