A couple of weeks ago, the Inner Circle tossed MJF out of the group for his treasonous behaviour. The Salt of the Earth almost destroyed the group from the inside, but Sammy Guevara foiled his plans. However, MJF had an ace up his sleeve in the form of his own faction called Pinnacle.

Alongside Tully Blanchard, FTR, Shawn Spears and Wardlow, MJF formed a new faction which destroyed the Inner Circle on Dynamite. In an interview with Bleacher Report Live, MJF explained how he conned Jericho and the Inner Circle.

“While I was able to reach and weaken the faction from the inside by making them hate each other, essentially, and also to a point where I got one guy out of the group in Sammy Guevara; not that bright of a guy. I personally felt at his weakest state was the best time for me to attack Chris.

“Chris thought he had it in the bag, Chris thought he had me figured out; Chris thought I wanted to take over the Inner Circle, Chris saw me in a corner sniveling. At that point he was hands down, the easiest target because he thought he was in the driver’s seat, and he clearly was not.”

According to the Salt of the Earth, he planned for this a long time ago. “I’ve had this planned for months. When I saw months, I mean a lot of months, and boy did it feel good seeing it come to fruition.”

On the same interview, MJF revealed the Pinnacle would not be impactful if the Inner Circle was at 100 percent.

“I don’t feel the Pinnacle would have the same impact on the roster it has now. And by the way, that’s me giving kudos to the Inner Circle. They were an incredible faction. At that point they were the best faction in All Elite Wrestling.”

“If I wanted to make sure that Pinnacle was the cream of the crop, the top of the mountain, as we are right now, I had to take that group out. And there’s no better way to do that than psychological warfare.”
